Proiectul propune o cercetare complexã în domeniul istoriei sociale, economice ºi administrative privind þinutul istoric al Sãlajului în cursul evului mediu ºi al epocii premoderne. Regiunea Sãlajului, o zonã de tranziþie ºi de contact între Transilvania propriu-zisã ºi Partium îndeosebi din perspectiva structurilor sociale, instituþionale ºi juridice, un spaþiu multietnic ºi multiconfesional, cu o moºtenire culturalã de mare valoare, reprezintã un teritoriu de maximã importanþã pentru cercetarea istoricã, promiþãtor în privinþa rezultatelor. Cercetarea se va baza, la modul concret, pe investigarea arhivei familiale Wesselényi, având printre obiectivele principale editarea documentelor anterioare anului 1690 din acest fond. În acest fel, se constituie baza documentarã pentru studierea istoriei unei regiuni puþin cunoscute, dar în acelaºi timp se oferã un reper comparativ substanþial ºi un material inedit cercetãrii istorice româneºti. Prin proiectul de faþã membrii colectivului de cercetare urmãresc sã integreze studiul istoriei acestei regiuni în curentul principal al cercetãrii naþionale de profil. Concomitent cu investigarea fondului familial, avem în vedere ºi studiul critic al literaturii de specialitate, pentru ca pe acest temei sã elaborãm o serie de studii ºi articole referitoare la realitãþile istorice din regiunea Sãlajului în secolele XIV–XVII. În alcãtuirea corpusului de documente urmãrim normele stiinþifice stabilite de cele mai însemnate ediþii de izvoare istorice din România, anume Documenta Romaniae Historica. Seria C. Transilvania, respectiv Codex diplomaticus Transsylvaniae.

INSTITUTIONAL STRUCTURES AND ELITES IN SILVANIA REGION IN THE 14TH–17TH CENTURIES

General presentation

The present project proposes a complex research in the domain of social, economic and administrative history of the Medieval and Early Modern Salaj. This region, a transition and contact area between Transylvania and the Partium as regards mainly the social, institutional and juridic structures, a multiethnic and multiconfessional space with a highly valuable cultural heritage is a territory of utmost importance for historical research, and a very promising one from the point of view of the results. The research, at a practical level, will be based on the research of the archive of the Wesselényi family, and has as one of its main objectives the edition of all pre-1690 documents of this collection. In this way, the documentary basis for the research of a less known region will be created, and at the same time it would provide a benchmark and a large amount of so far unpublished material for the Romanian historical research. With the present project the members of the research team intend to integrate the historical research of this region into the main current of the similar national research. Along with the research of the family archive, a critical overview of the secondary literature on the topic is targeted in order to be able to build on this basis a series of studies and articles treating the realities of the 14th-17th century Sãlaj. When compiling the collection of documents we shall follow the scientific standards settled by the most significant historical source editions in Romania, namely the Documenta Romaniae Historica. Series C. Transylvania and the Codex diplomaticus Transsylvaniae.
